hi Audra...how are you? funny, i was doing a "google" search on myself and saw that my name came up on your blog!! (no i'm not narcissistic, but i applied for a job and the first thing they do is google applicants' names!!! i just wanted to see what came up!!!)
i guess it was Jenn (Gi Gi?) who wrote about seeing me last summer! anyway, that's how i stumbled upon your website!

i wanted to share with you this website:
www.GetYourHeadInTheGame.org

do you remember Meg Smith? she graduated in my class...about 2 years ago her father was diagnosed with a brain tumor...i'm not sure what type, but it was rare...he left his body last summer...also, her mother was diagnosed with a different rare type of brain tumor...she is still fighting the battle...

Meg has been putting forth so much effort in research and outreach and education of brain tumors and she has helped organized a big walk in Wilmington, DE on May 3rd - the first ever "Awareness Walk"...

just wanted to let you know in case you are interested.

take care and best wishes to your beautiful family!
OM!

Welcome Home! Glad there was no drama! Would you and Mike mind getting married in some tropical locale so I'm forced to drop work and go on a vacation? It's the least you could do;-) I'll buy the license. What a deal...

Audra, I am so disappointed to hear that the klips you received were not what you wanted. So frustrating, between the sewing machine not working, the klips not being right, etc....that is just awful. Keep your spirits up though, and know that you are blessed!! :)

Hi Audra I received a message on my site from a friend of yours who is a teacher she did not leave any contact details and was after some help for her students. Can you please pass this message to her.
Dear Jenn I would be more than happy to help you with your students, if you like you can get them to write their questions to me and I will promise to answer all the letters and scan them back to you for printing. please contact me on my email sheppey@bigpond.com oh and by the way I had a MRI scan last week which shows no new growth so Kenny G is still there and will be treated with new seizure meds.. cheers and stay well

Audra,
Hi. It has been a very long time since I have seen or heard from anyone on your side of our family. Anyways, I stumbled across your website and was shocked to hear your current situation. The last I had heard you were still in Nashville pursuing music. Congrats on the marriage and your beautiful son Quinn. I have 2 kids myself. Rachel, who is four and Seth who will soon be two. I am very sorry to hear about the cancer. I pray that God will bless you with the best medical treatments and that everything works out well for you and your family. I just wanted to say hello, and let you know I will be praying for you.

Love your cousin,
David

Hello Audra:

Like you, I was diagnosed with an oligo tumor in 2006. Mine was a type III tumor with the genetic deletion (good news). Like you, 30 rounds of radiation and 12 chemo cycles with Temodar, which ended last August. To date I feel very good with clean MRI's, but I have a vision defect on my right side and a total loss of short-term memory plus an inability to multi-task. This is what has kept me from returning to work.
Your blog is fantastic and an inspiration. I have three young children and the challenges associated with this illness and raising them are quite difficult.
My email address is elcapidan@sbcglobal to keep in touch. Thank you!
Audra writes:
Hi Dan. I'm sorry to hear about your deficits but glad to know you've survived. I'm afraid I don't feel like much of an inspiration given that I haven't suffered the same obstacles you have (knock on wood).

Hey Audra... long time no speak. I stumbled across your site and was just heart broken over your tumor. It literally took 5 seconds to pick my jaw up off the floor. I'm sure it hasn't taken the fire out of the Rock & Roll chick I once knew. Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family, and I sincerely wish you all the best.
Audra writes:
OMG - Kevin!!!! How are you??? Are you still in MS? Last time you contacted me you were working in an oil field or something like that. What are you up to these days? Life is crazy, isn't it? Who would have predicted...

Hi Audra
I was doing more research on the oligo and came across your site. I was diagnosed with a baseball sized Oligodendroglioma II in Sept 06. I had the surgery to debulk and had 6 months of Temodar. I never had radio. I figured I was quite lucky how I came out of it all and I think my life has changed for the better. I prioritise things differently now. I did have to go back to the Docs this week as my seizure activity is focal and prior to diagnosis I was having alot of issue with smells, now I have started to have auditory hallucinations.. I am hearing music and to make things so much worse I think the music is Kenny G... omg this is something I would never listen to. Anyway the docs think Jonathon (that is who I named the BT) may have returned already. Perhaps i should have had the radio but it wasnt recommended. Amazing how treatments differ from country to country and also from state to state. Anyway you can visit my site any time it is

Hi Jayne. I hope "jonathan" hasn't returned. Do you get regular MRI's? Sorry to hear about hallucinating Kenny G tunes. ;-) It is interesting that treatments vary so much. Cancer treatments are all a big guess as you might have gathered. Medicine itself I think is more art than science a lot of the time but cancer treatments in particular.

Hey Audra!! It's been a looong time, but I was 1/2 of Rapnexx. Ahh, you're rolling your eyes right now, i just know it!! LOL!!!! I just wanted to tell you that a bizarre set of link jumping from one of our old web pages led me here. Your story is incredible and it's just so inspiring. I have two little girls now and still play music and tour out of Nashville. The last time I saw you was a chance run in at Bongo Java. Wow, seems like forever. You have such an amazing story and I'm going to share it with my wife in the morning. I also went to Steve Lamm's studio the other day. What a nice place!

Anyway, please take good care of your self and your family. I always thought you kicked total ass onstage!!

Sincerely

Audra,

Ok I am one of the long time fans of your music lol. I just checked the antidote and saw your post about the tumor. Really glad to hear all is well. I sent you a post a while back on the antidote before I deployed for my my second tour in Iraq (damn Marine Coprs lol)about an indie band called Johnny Society out of NY. You asked for a link to their website so hear it is. www.johnnysociety.com they are also on the geffen records site. Anyway I wish you the best and will be listening to your songs once again while deployed to Iraq.
Audra writes:
Hi Will. Yes, I remember that link you sent me a while back. Good luck in Iraq and I wish you a safe return.

Yes, I had surgery in February 2007 followed by radiation last summer. They weren't able to take the tumor (only a good biopsy chunk) because I lost speech during surgery. Thankfully, I regained speech...I read a few of your blogs and so many things resonated for me! It has been quite a year and such a complicated blend of emotions and both positive and negative aspects of having this diagnosis. When is your next MRI? Mine is February...

Hi Audra,
I just followed a link from braintumor.org to your site and am freaking out because my brain tumor was found on MRI on 12/12/06 when my son was 11 months. I later found out that it was an oligo stage II as well. I did radiation and am in the regrowth phase-a blessing and a curse! My regrowth is about 2 inches--just long enough to "fight" my headbands! I wish you the very best on your journey!
Audra writes:
Hi Trudy. Wow, mine was found 12/14/06 - only two days after yours. My son was 2.5 at the time. Did you have surgery?

Glad to hear you're doing well and making important changes. It's funny to read your posts because you're just discovering what I grew up with. We grew most all of our own food and were very concious of how we affected the planet. I'm sad that the short-sightedness of money and power always seem to overpower the wisdom of protecting our home ... the earth. If only the "immigrants" could have learned the lessons that the American Indians already knew and lived 200 years ago. I thought you might be interested in these sites. Enjoy!!

Hi Phyllis! How are you? I was just telling Jenn I hadn't heard from you in a while. Yes, we're getting interested in growing our own food. My parents had a big garden when I was a kid, my friends have gardens, but I've never had a garden of my own. I've been able to keep some ferns alive and thriving for a few years so I'm hoping I have my grandmother's green thumb. :-)

Hi Aud! It was great seeing you and meeting Mike and Quinn at the party. I can't get over how fantastic you look. I wish I had a little more of a chance to catch up with you, talk to Mike and play with Quinn. Scott enjoyed talking to Mike and really wanted to get to know you guys. I had a blast but wish I would have had more time with everyone. I was telling Adam, the next time I'm home I would love a group of us to go for dinner. Happy holidays to you and your adorable family:)

Hi Audra,

I just want to wish you and your family a Happy Holidays. This web site is awesome. I feel like I've stumbled into something intensely personal... kinda like I don't really belong, and even this note is an intrusion. Your story is simply amazing, thank you for sharing.

I must admit, I selfishly wish you were still doing your "rock star" thing (been a fan for a long time... when I got your CD, it came with a fan club membership card: #6).

Best of luck in everything you and your family do.
Audra writes:
Hi Chris! All comments are welcome and definitely not an intrusion. You are a Gold Star Club member, eh? That's what I called it, isn't it? Funny. Since you mentioned that it gave me another idea for my Hip Klip. Thanks! :-)
